So I received these Kiss everlasting FRENCH glue-on nails WAYYYY back in my last Influenster Spring Fling VoxBox (thanks, Influenster!). Unfortunately, due to working as a nurse and just generally not liking artificial nails, I put off trying them until now. Since I'm not working anywhere right now, I thought it would be a good time to give them a whirl.
As I said, I'm not a fan of artificial nails. Sure, I like the way pretty nails, including artificial ones look, but I find it to be too much of a pain to put my contacts in and take them out with artificial nails, plus I don't like the damage they do to my real nails. But, to be fair I wanted to give these nails an honest review, so last night I drug them out and applied them.
Application was fairly easy. The nails are numbered so it's easy to keep up with which number goes on the other hand. The glue is a little messy...however, that may just be me. Somehow I managed to get glue on my lips. Go figure. Haha! All in all, the nails fit my real nails pretty well. I did have to file the thumb nails down some to better fit my real nails. Once applied, I peeled the tabs on the end of the nails off and filed them down.
I applied these last night, as mentioned, and awoke this morning pleased to find that none had fallen off. I worry about the lasting power of self-applied artificial nails, but the glue on these bad boys seems very strong. That's good, until it's time to take them off. I may need a special prayer when that time comes!
So far I like the way they look for a self-application. I can see some spots under my nails that I am assuming is glue swirls. But it's not enough to make me want to jerk them off immediately. I'm going to wear them today and maybe over the weekend.
You can view pics of products I received courtesy of Influenster on my Instagram page in the link below.
Thanks again, Influenster!

Influenster VoxBox #3 Spring Fling
I was fortunate enough to be chosen as a recipient of a third VoxBox, Spring Fling. I have a short and sweet review this time of the products.
To start, I will say that the Labor Day Peach Pie air freshener was super cute, and very highly fragranced. While I didn't hang it in my car, it did help freshen my kitchen for a few hours. I haven't yet seen the movie, Labor Day, but would love to see it soon!
The Nivea Skin Firming Hydration Lotion leaves your skin silky soft. However, in my use of it, I can't say that I notice any significant changes in my skin's firmness. I have applied it to my thighs several times, hoping it would help my cellulite. While it's not a bad lotion, it didn't really help my skin firmness as much as I had hoped.
I have yet to try my Kiss everlasting French nails. I think they look very pretty, but being a pediatric nurse, I can't really wear them on an everyday basis. Perhaps if I have an occasion to "dress up" for soon, I will try them out. I think they look nice, and hopefully they will fit my nails well.
The Rimmel Scandaleyes retro glam mascara is a good product. While I don't like it as much as my Clinique high impact volume mascara, it definitely lifts and thickens bare lashes. The brush is big, and has a curve in it, which helps lift and cover all your lashes. Overall, I think it's a good mascara and would recommend it.
The Playtex Sport tampons are comfortable and I would recommend them to any woman who is active and on-the-go a lot.
Thanks, again, Influenster!

Influenster Violet VoxBox
I received my second VoxBox (the "Violet VoxBox") from Influenster the other day. My day instantly got a little better when I saw that pretty purple box at the post office. Who doesn't love trying new products? Better yet, who doesn't love trying new products for FREE, complimentary of Influenster? Umm...that's what I thought, no one.
In honor of my freebies, I thought I would take a minute to share the goodies that came in my VoxBox this time, and review what I thought of them.
SoyJoy Cranberry Snack Bar:
Love it! I've tried SoyJoy before, but this one seemed better than last. At just 140 calories, this makes a perfect snack, or for me, a great part of breakfast, paired with a banana. It's very dense, but I found it to be filling, when combined with a banana, until lunch time. I liked that it was not overly-sweet either.
Sally Hansen New Triple Shine Nail Color in "Make Waves:
This is a very pearlescent turquoise color, which is perfect for summer time! It reminds me of the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf. While it's a little too loud for me during the winter, or to wear on my fingernails, I can definitely see myself wearing it on my toes this upcoming summer. So pretty! It is sheer, so it'd take a few coats to get the intensity I'd like.
Goody Athletique Headband:
Mine was in a hot pink and black color. The headband is reversible, and makes a great go-to for workouts when you're going to be sweating it out, but don't want it running down your face. It stayed in place relatively well, and matches a lot of my workout clothes.
Goody QuikStyle Hairbrush:
This hairbrush is a new concept in hairstyling. It has built in microfiber bristles that helps to absorb excess water, thus making for quicker drying time. I was most excited about this product in my VoxBox. I had actually saw it at Wal-Mart before I knew anything about the Violet VoxBox, and thought the concept was very innovative. However, I hesitated buying it because I was afraid the bristles would mildew over time. When I received it free from Influenster, I was excited to give it a try. In the first use, I could tell it helped to absorb extra water and sped up my drying time. Plus, the microfiber has built-in antibacterial properties to help inhibit the growth of bacteria in the bristles. Knowing this eased my worry over the brush mildewing. Plus, instructions included washing the brush with shampoo to help keep it fresh. All-in-all, it's a great brush, not just for drying, but as a smoothing paddle brush.
Thanks, again, Influenster! I LOVE my VoxBoxes!

VoxBox Review!
So it's been several days now since I've got my very anticipated VoxBox, and I've had the luxury of getting to try out some of the goodies sent to me! My first product to try out was the 365 Lip Shield Chapstick. I loved it! I've always been a fan of plain ole chapstick, as I like to have something lightweight and not sticky on my lips. This chapstick has been my favorite so far, however. To me, it smelled like lemonade (yum!) and left my lips silky smooth. The best part is the sunscreen, though, as I plan on being outside on these beautiful sunny days. I also slipped my Dr. Schools Ball of Foot cushions into a pair of my favorite heels. I haven't wore them out yet, but I did take a few steps around the house and could definitely tell a difference in the comfort and support of my foot. I actually went out and bought another Dr. Scholl's insoles for High Heels :). I tried the Sally Hansen nail strips out the day I received the box. Unfortunately, they did not work out so well for me. They were not sticky enough to stay on my nails, and I had difficulty trying to tear them to fit my nails. They come in super cute designs, but I don't think I will be purchasing any. The Twilight Woods body spray has always been one of my faves, and it has joined my cherished collection of other B&BW products. I haven't tried out the Aveeno Body Wash yet, but I plan on it soon. The SoyJoy fruit bar was pretty good, especially since I'm not usually a fan of "health bars". I thought it to be more dense and "substance filled" than other bars, and it was very filling. I would probably purchase some more of them, but in other flavors. I've been using my Sheer Cover concealer daily. I love it! It is very good at hiding my under-eye dark circles. So far, I have enjoyed most all of my products sent to me free, courtesy of Influenster! :)
Update: I tried the Aveeno Body Wash, and enjoyed it very much. It had a light scent, and is very moisturizing. Love Aveeno products, and this one was no disappointment.

Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox
I was beyond excited when I learned I would be receiving the Spring Beauty VoxBox from a company called "Influenster." This company was designed to help viewers of the website/testers try out new products and give feedback on how they enjoyed the items. My friend, Tiffany, was the first to tell me about it. I signed up with Influenster, and completed several surveys that helped them decide what items I would most use/enjoy. And so, here is my first "VoxBox" full of goodies to try! In it is Bath and Body Works 8 oz. fragrance mist in "Twilight Woods", travel size Aveeno Daily Moisturizing body wash, Sheer Cover dual concealer, ChapStick Lip Shield 365, SoyJoy Blueberry bar, Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot cushions, and Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (mine was in "Kitty, Kitty" cheetah print). Looking so forward to trying them, and I will blog again soon on my experience with them. God Bless you all!
